HKU ADMISSION INTERVIEW 2012

This is a really great experience for me!

I learned and observed alot!

@KLCC convention centre Hall 5

The process is like this :

Register yourself at the edu fair booth 10 mins before your interview session.

Fill in a form about your academic and non- academic achievements.

Wait for your turn.

We were brought into a meeting hall.

Shake hands, greetings.

There was two interviewers.

We sat accordingly to the numbers on the chair.

And we have to put on a number card around our neck.

The interviewer was friendly..

He started with some jokes to make us release our tension.

We were given a topic on " Euthanasia"..

We were given one minute to think about it.

And then..

The discussion among 9 of us begins..

Until the interviewer says time's up.

...

REFLECTION : 

I was quite nervous during the interview session, alot of courage is needed for me to start speaking.

I am also a slow thinker. Ideas always flow out at the wrong timing.

When no one talks.. 

I got no idea what to say..

Later..

When I have a few ideas and points to talk about.. 

The other candidates were keep talking talking talking..

ISSSSHHHH!

(* ish for myself)

I was looking for a chance to start speaking out..

WhAITing~ whhaiting~

Finally i have got a chance!!!!

and the interviewer change topic.. 

= =

uuurrrssshhh!

And so, i didt manage to voice up for the 2nd time. 

I should just say "excuse me, can i talk please? "

I should just say what i want to say without bothering them!!!

NOTE to myself : BE SELFISH!!! BE SHAMELESS!!!

I regreted!

What to do?

Its already over!!

SO,

Just take it as a lesson!

For me to do better in the next few interviews.. =D

Anyway! there is 350 candidates, 

and there are only 35 placement!

Im not an academic and non academic excellent student..

So.. I dont really put high hope for this..

What i observed :


* There is 2 candidates from my group, they never want to speak even a single word.
Until the interviewer asked one of the girl to speak. 
And she said something like : 


" i feel there is no point for us to debate, everyone have their own opinion towards this topic. For me, I dont have any idea, because when this happens to my family, emotion will take place 1st, i wont know whats my choice."


And i was like.. stunt..
Is this right or wrong?
Or is this the powerful way of answering question? 
shez cool! haha


And another guy..never speak at all! 


Weird...
what are they thinking? 
Hmm..


*There is another guy, he speaks very very well before the interview session..
However, during the interview,
when he started to speak out his opinion..
Everything changed..
He was so nervous..
He spoke very softly..
He spoke broken english (but his english was actually really good) 
I saw his hand shaking..
This is all about performance ability!


*There is a girl..
She started the discussion..
I was like "wow~~!"
Who knows, she keep talking about commit suicide instead of  Euthanasia..




 the interviewer asked her : 
" Do you feel everyone is looking at you while you are talking?"
"YES"
"because you are out of the topic..."






owhh...pity her.. =(


*Anyway, the interviewer told her this nicely without stressing her.. =D


AND ALSO


*There is 2 girl from my group, i guess they are good friends..
Lucky them!
This gave them more confidence to speak out!

ps. Thanks to Jo for escorting me for the whole day, giving me confidence to go for the interview..
